Matt crossing the finish line with his minions.
We have been proudly walking in The Bloody Long walk since 2104, when we only had a team of 6. Over the years our team has grown and this year we had 30 dedicated family and friends supporting us. The money we raise goes directly to the Mito Foundation. They support people affected by mitochondrial disease, fund essential research into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cures of mitochondrial disorders, and increases awareness and education about this devastating disease.
The first few years we walked the 35km from Palm Beach to Manly. We thought we would have a change of scenery and so we decided to try the Malabar to Circular Quay. Both have their challenges, but the challenge is nothing compared to what Matt suffered for 12 years.
That is what motivates me every year to get to the finish line.....
